Gear Ratio

Gear Ratio means the number of turns the drive gear makes compared to one turn of the driven gear it mates with. Depending on if you have a manual or automatic, the gear size differs. To determine the gear ratio, count the number of teeth on both the drive pinion and the ring gear. Divide the ring gear teeth number by the pinion drive number to calculate the final drive ratio 2.25:1 3:1 4.5:1 7.5:1
